I am committed to work that supports strong links between professional and participatory theatre.

From 1998 - 2000 I was Youth Theatre Director at Salisbury Playhouse where I directed ten pieces of work across three of their spaces - including in front of Salisbury Cathedral.

From 2000 - 2001 I was Acting Education Director for The Lyric Theatre Hammersmith where I was responsible for supporting the production of their Children’s Festival as well as a tour of David Almond’s Wild Girl, Wild Boy.

From 2001 - 2007 I worked as Associate Director of Watford Palace Theatre where I was responsible for setting up the new education programme and securing the tender from Hertfordshire County Council to deliver their drama provision to Secondary Schools.

We toured accessible and exciting versions of plays by Brecht and The Crucible in History (an exploration of both Arthur Miller’s play and the HUAC).

During my time at Forest Forge, I initiated a new creative learning programme which fed into the new

writing programme I was developing as well as setting up initiatives in their own right. An Elders group: Act Your Age, and the Elevate work experience project are just two of those projects that came out of this work. We were also keen to develop new work for the Youth Theatre and so both David Lane and Richard Conlon wrote companion pieces for the Youth Theatre based on the plays they were also writing for the touring programme. Forest Forge also led on a large-scale Strategic Touring Programme entitled Bloom. This involved eight art centres with 48 Community groups attached developing a unique experience for each centre.

As a workshop leader and educator, I specialise in working with new texts, Brecht and Stanislavski, devising and building confidence through drama.
